Default Delete --blocking-factor file

Don't know how but we have managed to create a 3.5 gig file in our
root directory called --blocking-factor and we can't delete it.

Has anybody got any suggestion for removing this file?

Patrick.

Probably a result of typographical or syntactic error in a tar command.

It would be helpful if you would be more descriptive of the particular error
your are encountering. "We can't delete it" doesn't say much.

Have you tried:

rm -- --blocking-factor

Notice the 2 dashes after rm which indicates that the next argument is not a
command option.
