Default Installing IPF on Trusted Solaris 8

I am currently trying to install IPF 3.4.31 on a Trusted Solaris
8 machine. Unfortunately I am unable to change the version of Trusted
Solaris I am using.

I install the packages using pkgadd as the admin role at
ADMIN_LOW and I get the following message which concerns me.

add_allocatable : required privileges not asserted

file_downgrade_sl

When I reboot the machine IPF appears to come up fine. However
if I try to run "ipfstat -o" I get an error unable to access /dev/kmem.

Does any one know how to properly install IPF on TSOL 8? Does
anyone know what I am doing wrong or why these errors might be appearing?
Does any one have any tips on how to diagnose the problem?

Thanks for any help you can provide.
