Default Domain Name instead of IP Blocking or Filtering

I am new to IPFilter. I don't have it running and therefore haven't
experimented with it. The function I believe I want is to block domain
names (e.g. www.google.com) instead of IP addresses. Is this already
feasible in IPFilter (the documentation for IP Filter seemed to always
use IP addresses)?

If it is not possible, why is it better to use IP address instead of
domain names?
