3.4.32 had a bug which caused occasional panics in fr_scanlist(). If
my memory serves me well Darren came up with a patch which fixed the
problem, and that fix was included in later 3.4.x releases. So I'd say
that updating to the latest 3.4.x IP Filter version (3.4.35) should
solve your problem.

The move to 4.1.8 could probably help as well, but that's a
significantly riskier upgrade than simply moving to 3.4.35.
