Default ipfilter makes the kernel panic on Solaris7 SPARC

Installed Solaris7 more or less Full+OEM with Solstice DiskSuite 4.2.1. =
No patching done to the system yet.

Detached submirrors before installing ipfilter 3.4.29. The system =
didn't crash. However, upon reboot, I get this 'love note':

Configuring the /devices directory
Configuring the /dev directory
Configuring the /dev directory (compatibility devices)
The system is coming up. Please wait.
checking ufs filesystems
/dev/md/rdsk/d20: is logging.

The way I'm reading this, the kernel appears to be out of memory inodes. =
I have 256MB of swap configured, so I can't be out of memory. Besides, =
when I ran 3.4.28, there was plenty of physical RAM still available.

Ideas, anyone?
