Bug in ipfilter?

Hi,

I have a strange symptom: when my campus looses ist outside connection
my ruleset is not working any more. When i then activate my very old
ruleset it works again. When i restart the machine the 'new' ruleset
works again.

Is there anything in the filter-prog that connects to the outside? Maybe
reverse lookups or something?

I am quite confused by that.

My Systems are Solaris Sparc V8 machines with ipfilter 3.4.23 (hmm.
Should i update to 3.4.33-pre2?)
