Default Solaris 9 crashing

Hi All,

I've been trying to get ipf working on a Solaris 9 system for a couple
of weeks now. The first time it crashed it took out part of the md.conf
file which wrecked my disk mirroring - not a fun experience - although
for some reason I didn't believe it, so I went through the whole process
again. The crash does somehow remove part of this file -
/kernel/drv/md.conf. How is this possible?

I'm using 3.4.33-pre2, supposedly the stable version, but it is not in
any way stable. I see another note referencing a patch in the list -

> We had a few machines panic while running 3.4.33pre1. Darren came up

but no response to where that patch is - its not listed on the patch
page - http://coombs.anu.edu.au/~avalon/ipfpatches/index.html - that I
can tell.

This has really been frustrating. I don't expect that adding a single
piece of network software to the system will require me to bring the
system down, reboot from cd and rebuild my entire mirroring structure.

Unfortunately I don't have the debuging skills to go through the crash
dumps and find out exactly what went wrong, although I do have them, if
anybody has any pointers on how to do such a thing.

Is there a patch that works with Solaris 9?

Thanks,
Chris
