What does binding mean?

hi, i wrote an application that wrapps a diffrent net application.
when i send the packets manually and not let the application handle it,
i see that the in the info part of the window i see in parenthesis : (0
bindings) and when the app itself sends it i see (1 binding).
what does that mean?
