Yes, we are also using eDirectory for our LDAP Server. However,
Courier compiles against and uses the OpenLDAP client libraries for
LDAP authentication, thus you are using OpenLDAP as the client.

Anyhow, try setting LDAP_FULLNAME to be fullname (uncomment it) and
restart authlib. Ten bucks says CN will no longer be queried once you
do that...
