If, by that, you want to specify the MIME character set, manually append
'Mime-Version: 1.0', and 'Content-Type: text/plain; charset=XXXXX' headers.

You may also need to append 'Content-Transfer-Encoding: 8bit', if
vacation.msg contains 8 bit content.
