I've had that problem for months. Mails sent to friends with hotmail
addresses ends up in their spam folder. I even got SPF records setup for
my domains.

The only way to fix it was to ask everyone to put me into their
addressbook (i.e. whitelist). Sending mail to those accounts from a
university, which is a large organisation (running exchange), did not
require such measures.

Hotmail is probably extra 'hot' on spamfiltering, but they don't seem to
do a good job. Maybe they have a policy of accepting mail from small
providers/private services. Never have a problem with gmail.com
addresses and they seem to be very famous for not letting spam through.

My university (Missouri) also just implemented some type of blacklisting
and I would reject mail from my server. I had to have them whitelist it.
Perhaps Microsoft is pushing its policy to its exchange customers.
