Hi, I used to have this problem with 0.52 on FreeBSD 6 as well. I can't rule out that it was caused by my perlfilter, since I had the extremely silly, spamflood-panic idea to block dsn senders (or lack thereof), which I only recently changed to reason. However, I used to have these "456 Address temporarily unavailable" errors also with my perlfilter disabled. I had to put ESMTP_BLOCKBACKSCATTER=none both in esmtpd and in courierd conf files, then it stopped - but so I had to go without this feature, which is a bad idea too. Since my upgrade to 0.54 I re-enabled backscatter and until now I have no problems. Maybe it helps in your case too. I'm using FreeBSD and Mysql-based users.
