Content-Type: text/plain; charset=ISO-8859-1 Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable Content-Disposition: inline I'm not sure what is causing this. I believe I have followed the directions correctly for creating a list, and I've also tried several different option= s for ownership of the mailing list directory and its files. This occurs after the new user has sent their initial 'subscribe' email, have received their request for confirmation, and are replying to it. Here'= s a logfile sample: Nov 3 10:41:18 pebkac courierd: started,id=3D005AEC9E.436A4BBE.000036BF,fro= m=3D< annie@xxxxxxxxx.yyy>,module=3Dlocal,host =3Dzzzzzzz!subconfirm-CGJMBPKNMNCJCEAOCHHDELJANLDOJKEN!1127!100!/home/zzzzz= zz!!,addr=3D<zzzzzz> Nov 3 10:41:18 pebkac courierlocal: id=3D005AEC9E.436A4BBE.000036BF,from=3D= < annie@xxxxxxxx.yyy>,addr=3D<zzzzzzz-subconfirm -CGJMBPKNMNCJCEAOCHHDELJANLDOJKEN@ggggggg.hhh>: sublist/misc: Permission denied Nov 3 10:41:18 pebkac courierlocal: id=3D005AEC9E.436A4BBE.000036BF,from=3D= < annie@xxxxxxxx.yyy>,addr=3D<zzzzzzz-subconfirm -CGJMBPKNMNCJCEAOCHHDELJANLDOJKEN@ggggggg.hhh>,status: deferred I eventually end up using command line commands to subscribe the user by hand. Steps I used to create: 1) create the user that will be the listserv user 2) as root, I use the couriermlm create command to create the directory. It populates with all the appropriate files 3) chown the created directory to the user created in step 1 4) add in the appropriate .courier files in the user's home directory to point all inbound mail to the couriermlm command and appropriate directory (created in step 2) Additional troubleshooting steps: I tried modifying permissions to the listserv directory, chowning it to root, chowning it to the courier user, and then back to the listserv user. Nothing changed the behavior at all. Any thoughts?
