Hi
Ok, it's been a wild adventure trying to convert my old courier setup to the new server, but i think i'm almost there now. Basically i'm using MySQL for the backend users, but decided to keep the old userdb for the existing users. I copied over the userdb file, and changed out some of home=3D value. I tried logging in as one of the old users w/ no luck (permission errors). Than i remembered the uid/gid section there in the userdb file. I swapped that out to the new value (5000) and re-ran makeuserdb. Authorization works now (hallelujah). Alas, the mail is still unretrievable... when i try to log in as one of the older users from telnet i get this error: pass x -ERR Maildir: No such file or directory Connection closed by foreign host. and the relevant output from the logs: Aug 2 10:22:32 zena courierpop3login: Connection, ip=3D[::ffff:127.0.0.1] Aug 2 10:22:35 zena courierpop3login: LOGIN: DEBUG: ip=3D[::ffff:127.0.0.1= ], comm and=3DUSER Aug 2 10:22:36 zena courierpop3login: LOGIN: DEBUG: ip=3D[::ffff:127.0.0.1= ], comm and=3DPASS Aug 2 10:22:36 zena courierpop3login: LOGIN: DEBUG: ip=3D[::ffff:127.0.0.1= ], user name=3Dsam@foobar.com Aug 2 10:22:36 zena courierpop3login: LOGIN: DEBUG: ip=3D[::ffff:127.0.0.1= ], pass word=3Dx Aug 2 10:22:36 zena courierpop3login: authdaemon: starting client module Aug 2 10:22:36 zena courierpop3login: authdaemon: ACCEPT, username sam@foobar.com Ok, so it is evident that it's just an issue w/ the migration... i copied all the old maildirs off the old server to the new one. they used to be in /home/virtual, but now they are in /home/vmail (i did change that parameter in the userdb file). Anyway... i've been trying to find out where it's looking for the Maildir in the docs/config files, but not w/ much luck. I did see the MAILDIRPATH there in /etc/courier/pop3d (it's default value was Maildir), so i tried changing that to '.' (because i don't having any folders that are actually named Maildir), but that didn't work either. Maybe a sample of how my maildirs are layed out would help? /home/vmail/foobar.com/i/sam // this is the maildir is it the MAILDIRPATH that is causing me such woes? otherwise where else can i look?
