Arno scribbled something like:
>> Yep, I tried that and it does not go anywhere because the relay wants >> authentication: Maybe it has to do with a setting you may have accidentally turned on like = I did once and got that particular error. File: /etc/courier/esmtpd ##NAME: AUTH_REQUIRED:0 # # Set AUTH_REQUIRED to 1 in order to force the client to use ESMTP # authentication. You can override AUTH_REQUIRED on a per-IP address basis # using smtpaccess. See makesmtpaccess(8). AUTH_REQUIRED=3D0 When I saw that, I misinterpreted it as turning on the need for authentication to send emails OUT of the machine (a client of the box authenticates with their user/pass to use the machine as a relay). Instead it turns on authentication for everything =3D) Even incoming emails from outside servers... Which of course those outside servers from the worl= d have no clue what to use to authenticate (nor would want to set up such a thing). SO, make sure yours is set to "0" like the above text shows? That=B9s the only idea I have for you. -Randall Shaw ------------------------------------------------------- SF.Net email is sponsored by: Discover Easy Linux Migration Strategies from IBM.
