Does anyone know much about encoding differences? One user has
received two different emails from the same sender in the last two weeks. These emails were in Russian and sent from Outlook Express. The first had a content-type header as listed below and the text of the message was properly viewable. Content-Type: text/plain; format=flowed; charset="windows-1251"; reply-type=original The second had a slightly different content-type header and all the text was replaced with a barrage of ? marks. Content-Type: text/plain; format=flowed; charset="iso-8859-1"; reply-type=original So the questions are: 1) Is the content-type inserted by Outlook or is this something that Courier interprets and sets? 2) What might cause the charset value to be different between the two messages (same version of Outlook express used for both messages)? 3) Is this what is causing the message to become unreadable or am I totally off-base? thanks, charles ------------------------------------------------------- SF.Net email is sponsored by: Discover Easy Linux Migration Strategies from IBM.
