setup is courier 0.47 with spamassasin and bayes learning.
Based on reading docs i think i understand that aliases (ones created by 'makealiases') can not be trained with the bayesian learning. For instance a mailbox is setup foobar@foodomain.com and an alias is setup called aliasname@foodomain.com that forwards to foobar@foodomain.com. It seems that email messages comes in for the alias and gets checked for spam according to spamassasin default settings then gets delivered into foobars folder...without using the filtering settings that were user-modified for foobar. whereas I would prefer to be able to have the alias utilize the spamassasin and bayesian settings for foobar. should I not be using aliases if I want effective spam filtering and just use mailboxes and configure the .courier file if I just want it to forward? thanks for tips... charles ------------------------------------------------------- This SF.Net email is sponsored by: NEC IT Guy Games.
