Hi Sam,
I just started playing with RHEL4 final on a x86_64 box and I'm having an issue building courier-authlib RPMs. The ./configure stage goes through ok but make dies when building authdaemon.c: make[3]: Leaving directory `/home/jlee/rpm/BUILD/courier-authlib-0.53/liblog' make[2]: Leaving directory `/home/jlee/rpm/BUILD/courier-authlib-0.53/liblog' make[2]: Entering directory `/home/jlee/rpm/BUILD/courier-authlib-0.53' Compiling authdaemon.c In file included from authdaemon.c:12: /usr/include/stdio.h:385: error: syntax error before '&&' token make[2]: *** [authdaemon.lo] Error 1 make[2]: Leaving directory `/home/jlee/rpm/BUILD/courier-authlib-0.53' make[1]: *** [all-recursive] Error 1 make[1]: Leaving directory `/home/jlee/rpm/BUILD/courier-authlib-0.53' make: *** [all] Error 2 error: Bad exit status from /var/tmp/rpm-tmp.45985 (%build) This did not occur on RHEL4 beta 2 so RedHat might of broke something for final release. Looking at /usr/include/stdio.h at line 385 reveals nothing unusual: 382: extern int vdprintf (int __fd, __const char *__restrict __fmt, 383: _G_va_list __arg) 384: __attribute__ ((__format__ (__printf__, 2, 0))); 385: extern int dprintf (int __fd, __const char *__restrict __fmt, ...) 386: __attribute__ ((__format__ (__printf__, 2, 3))); 387: #endif stdio.h is a part of the glibc-headers-2.3.4-2 RPM. I verified the md5 of the rpm against RedHat Network's and it checked out ok. My only other thought is that the / filesystem is on LVM. I recall hearing of some weird rpmbuild issues with software RAID, LVM and/or NFS, could that be it? It's a test box so I may reinstall using a normal partition scheme and see if that helps, any other thoughts? Thanks, Jay -- Jay Lee Network / Systems Administrator Information Technology Dept.
