Gamin is not supported yet as a replacement for FAM as Sam hasn't had a chance to test out FC3 yet or work out the bugs. In my experience, Courier compiled against Gamin-devel fine but ENHANCED IDLE did not work (no folder changes were sent back to the client. Others have also reported lockups and hanging when using Gamin with many users (my test only involved a few test accounts). You have three options: 1. Remove gamin and gamin-devel, modify the courier.spec file and remove fam-devel as a buildreq then rebuild courier rpm. Once the build is complete you can reinstall gamin without fear of courier using it. Your Courier install will no longer be capable of enhanced idle. 2. Get the latest fam SRPM from FC2 and rebuild the RPM for FC3. Remove gamin and gamin-devel and install fam and fam-devel, recompile courier against fam-devel and reinstall Courier RPMS. 3. If you know enough C++, figure out a patch to get gamin working :) I'm sure Sam would appreciate not having to investigate one more issue.
