It is a bit more complicated: it first depends on the registry. Some registries like the ".com" registry requires a separate step of name server registration. As you said, this registration can be done "behind your back" by the registrar. Other registries, like the ".fr" registry, never requires a name server registration so, whatever the registrar, you do not have to register name servers. |
