CAVEAT: if you want to change an SOA record via nsupdate, you need to do=20
an "add" of the new SOA RR and the serial number of the new RR needs to=20 be higher than the old serial number. SOA deletes are ignored, and adds=20 will be ignored if the serial number isn't higher. - Kevin holger.honert@signal-iduna.de wrote: >Hi Matt, > >here you are: > > =20 > >>update add ras.system.local 3600 MX 50 mail.ras.system.local >>send=20 >> =20 >> > >you can use all standard RFC DNS Records for updating your zones with=20 >nsupdate. > >Freundlichen Gru=C3=9F/Kind Regards >=20 >Holger Honert >=20 >KOMN-97851 >=20 >SIGNAL IDUNA Gruppe >Joseph-Scherer-Str. 3 >=20 >44139 Dortmund >=20 >Phone: +49 231/135-4043 >FAX: +49 231/135-2959 >=20 >mailto: holger.honert@signal-iduna.de > > > > > > >Matt Kukowski <elitescripts2000@yahoo.com> >Gesendet von: bind-users-bounce@isc.org >14.12.2004 11:12 >=20 >An: bind-users@isc.org >Kopie:=20 >Thema: nsupdate with bind9 > > >Hello, >=20 >I have nsupdate set up with keys with my bind9 server and I added/delete= d=20 >A and CNAME records.. however Im having problems finding info/examples o= n=20 >how to add MX records. >=20 >Can someone send me or point me to a location where I can get all ( or a= ll=20 >the most major ) examples on how to add all types of dns records ??? >=20 >example to add an A record with nsupdate: >-------------------------------------------------------------- >update delete somehost.example.com.
