Some root name servers are now queried first with
IPv6 addresses, which can cause timeouts if IPv6 networking is not initialized . By default, IPv6 networking is not initialized in RHEL-3, RHEL-4, and FC3, and 4 second timeouts will occur when some root name servers are queried first with their IPv6 addresses. Initializing IPv6 networking, by adding this line to /etc/sysconfig/network : ' NETWORKING_IPV6=yes ' prevents timeouts occurring for IPv6 queries . |
