Hi,
this sounds very odd, the i386 folder does not exist on my XP installation,
and on every version of windows I have used, the hosts file is in
C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc. Try deleting the hosts file, as it should not
be in that directory anyway. Maybe the i386 directory is created by your ADSL
modem, as by default, it does not exist, in which case, your ADSL driver may be
using this file for some strange reason.
