WAP with password

Hi,

currently I make a WAP-Site, and I want to secure some pages.
I do this with ".htpasswd". My mobile-phone (Siemens S45) seems to be
very stupid, because the WAP-Browser on it doesn't remeber the pages,
which are password-secure. And all the time it send first the request
without pw, then it becomes a "401" from the Server an then it sends the
pache with pw! I only know this from very old Browser.

Can I avoid this?
Does every WAP-phone/PDA do this?
