yeah yeah it's always Microsoft's fault huh?

Anyway I have a clean install of Winodws 2000 Pro full install with 2.0.46
on it and it uses 1 to 4% of system processor - I am running 512mb of RAM on
an older IBM PC Server 330 (8640-PB0) that has dual Pentium II-266MMX
processors and for drives I have 3 controllers - built in RAID, built in
SCSI for external and an Adaptec 2940UW for external. I run a set of 4x
4.3gb drives and a set of 2x 18gb drivesint he RAID rack and 4x 23gb FH
5.25" drives in two external cases, two in each. It will be expanded as time
goes on - I presently have $250 into all of it and that includes the $25 I
gave for the authentic sealed copy of Win 2000 Pro on ebay (got lucky on a
middle of the week late night close)

While I have a basic setup on the machine since I fully reloaded today I did
have it almost fully trimmed out and modules added and it never uised over
20% of processor even under load of visitors.

It may be your machine, the processor, you need a clean load of Windows, you
have a virus or spyware running, who knows The easy answer is to blame it
on Windows.

One of the problems is that Firewalls like Norton and Zone Alarm even when
disabled are continually running, I sometimes get together with friends for
lan partys and some of them run ZoneAlarm, Even when they have enabled all
ports and Disabled ALL zonealarm the games won't run until the prtocess is
killed off using the three finger salute, The windows Firewalls are useless,
give me a good linux box any day.
