Default Too many instances of apache

Hi.

We need to run Apache on a Linux System with minimal memory resources.
I tried playing around with the parameters in the MPM blocks at the
beginning of apache2.conf. But I could not manage to have more than 4
instances of apache running (which take up ~80MB of mem).

Any ideas?

Regards,
Jan

Of course I intended to say I could not manage to have _less_ than 4
instances.
