Default Problem with Apache 2.0.x

I am running FreeBSD 4.11-stable (sources up-to-date as of yesterday)
with Apache 2.0.x (I have tried several recent drops). I have a smb file
system mounted on this machine (it is a samba share on another
4.11-stable box). I am seeing this message each time I access the
server from a browser:

smb_maperror:Unmapped error 1:158

The problem does not occur with Apache 1.3.x

What might be causing this? Fixes?

TIA,
