Apxs is a script distributed with Apache. Look in
/where/is/apache/bin or /where/is/apache/sbin

Hi,

do you use a self compiled version of apache or the packet one with redhat?

If you compile Apache yourself you have to run the configure script with
--enable-so. then you find apxs normally under $apache-prefix$/bin/apxs

Klaus
