Yes, I agree that this is a problem. Why people run software that
is susceptible to such attacks is something I'll never understand. :-(

Nor would I, hence my request for advice from like-minded people. ;)

Well "just" in this case is a bit of an issue...my network
switches a *lot* of messages; those machines run pegged all day
long. I don't worry about it for my home network, but at work things
are a different story. I suppose it'll just mean pouring more
hardware on the problem.
