[AMaViS-user] amavisd-new memory usage on 32bit vs 64bit OS: factor

Hi,

I just noticed that two almost identical amavisd-new installations have
wildly different memory usages.

The only difference is that one system is i386, whereas the other amd64.

On i386, top reports:

Both were started a few minutes ago, so the difference isn't caused by the
64bit version having been running for a long time.

I'm having a hard time accepting this difference as normal.

Maybe this is a bug in perl?

i386: This is perl, v5.8.8 built for i486-linux-gnu-thread-multi
amd64: This is perl, v5.8.8 built for x86_64-linux-gnu-thread-multi

My amavisd-new version is 2.5.2-rc1, and I have the qmqpqq patch applied.
