I had tried postgrsql FIRST (had to do a lot of mucking around with
table creates to get it to work)

Seemed to work ok.

But had another application on same system that didn't seem to like
postgres all that well.

I saw lots of information about optimizing mysql, but not much on
optimizing postgres.

Also, found a couple of sites that had some statistics showing (contrary
to what I had thought) that postgres didn't scale well.

I liked postgres for the transactional triggers, but in the end, found
it caused problems with other application (amavis worked just fine)
