Sorry for the delayed response. 32MB is pretty "sketchy" for a server to run this much software concurrently. Some suggestions: * As per the earlier response, configure it to run only one amavisd-new process. * Don't use any optional SA rulesets - many are memory-intensive. * Eliminate any other extraneous processes that may be running on the box. But you know what? This still may not do it. I just looked at my FreeBSD dev box, and amavisd-new 2.2.0 + SA 3.0.2 running under Perl5.8.6 has a 35-37MB footprint, per process. This combo is probably going to run like a dog in a 32MB virtual machine. You may want to downgrade to SA 2.64, which I believe had a smaller memory footprint, and see how that compares.
