Hello Michael,

thanks for replying, I am pretty sure now that the ldap part is no=20
problem. But I think I haven't understood it all yet, I'm sorry. Probably=20
I have to dig a little more into the postfix and amavisd-new docs.

I did some testing and I found the following things:

variant 1:
I sent a message to an alias which expands to two new addresses. Then I=20
took a look at one of such a message and only saw _one_ recipient. So now=20
I think I was wrong when I thought that a message has multiple=20
recipients, if it comes out of the expansion of a distribution list=20
alias. Postfix just generates two single new messages an feeds them on to=20
the content_filter.

variant 2:
I sent a message with two addresses in the To: header. Then I could see=20
both recipients while looked into one of such a message.

In both cases postfix logged two recipients "nrcpt=3D2" in mail.log.

Now I wonder how amavid-new recognizes multiple recipients at all? I asume=
=20
it checks the headers of a message. If that is true, then amavisd-new=20
only finds two recipients in variant 2, right? And as you made clear, it=20
then fires out two distinct ldap queries (if configured to of course) to=20
get the settings for those addresses.

Thus I can conclude that I would never get a problem with the size limit=20
at all. Can you confirm this?

Timo
