For historical client purposes, I need
$sa_spam_subject_tag = '**SPAM** '; to return **SPAM?** I've had no luck at escaping the ? mark. For example, '**SPAM?**' causes the subject line re-write not to happen at all. '**SPAM\?**' results in **SPAM\?** '**SPAM\\?**' results in **SPAM\?** ( hit a nerve here but still not right) Hints anyone?
