Anyone know of a plugin that will read the Vpopmail forwarding list as
well as the e-mail accounts for Squirrelmail that will let people with forwards login with the forwarding address for example if joe-bob@mydomain.com forwards to joe@mydomain.com squirrelmail will let joe@mydomain.com login to joe-bob@mydomain.com but will still allow joe-bob@mydomain.com to login as well, so either or, I haven't seen a plugin for that yet but I've seen a plugin for the virtusertable that sendmail used which is alot different but the same concept. |

This email is accessible via a login from joe@mydomain.com. You want a person to be able to login with joe-bob@mydomain.com and access the data in joe@mydomain.com as well? AK |

Yes, using the forward address basically, but still allowing people
without forwarding to access normally, it's because we migrated from sendmail using a virtusertable and the mail server was setup all wrong when I first started working on the server and their is just too many users to switch but I want to make it easy to just use the forwarding address to login to squirrelmail like I was doing with squirrelmail on the sendmail server with the virtusertable plugin for it. |

Which part are you trying to correct? From the above, it seems that your users were setup but a password was not set. If you are using vpopmail, why forward at all if you need the user to use the login as the email address to which the message is addressed? terminate the forwarding and set the virtual user and that should resolve your issue. You are trying to fix an error by introducing another error. My guess will be that at some point you would advance within your firm from managing the email setup and your replacement will be posting here a request to introduce another error to correct the situation again to accomodate a new requirement.
