The user "vahid" of course exist on the system, that is me, but the
senders often get the following error in a bounced back email. Can anyone explain why emails bounce only sometimes, if qmail was not configured correctly, all the mails to that user would bounce but that is not the case. I am using Qmail on Solaris 9 with system's getpwnam(). Thanks, Vahid. From: MAILER-DAEMON@mydomain.COM To: paul@sender.com Subject: failure notice Hi. This is the qmail-send program at MyDomain.COM. It is saying, via the output of > "qmail-getpw", that that user does _not_ exist on your system. I copy/pasted his command, and did that in every shell I have installed on my machine, results were the same. I receive e-mail most of the times but sometimes senders get bounced back message. |

Then your copy&paste procedure is transcribing the wrong character. I'll say it again: Use the proper shell metacharacter for creating a pipeline. V> I receive e-mail most of the times but sometimes senders V> get bounced back message. This is because there is no real user named "vahid" on your system. You assert otherwise, but the output of "qmail-getpw" contradicts you. |
