qmail, vpopmail confusion

Hi Everyone,

A couple of days ago i finished the excellent qmail, rh9 howto at
timekiller.org. I also used the qmail handbook.

Things aren't quite working as they should however and i am writing
for a bit more understanding of whats going on.

I have three domain names to host for (tonicit.com.au,
combinedfire.com.au and cabware.com.au), tonicit.com.au is mine and is
the name i configured qmail w/. the other two are working very well
via vpopmail but my account andrew@tonicit.com.au is not working via
vpopmail. Can i have all three domains configured as virtual domains,
do i need to have tonicit.com.au as a local account. I tried it local
and i am getting a 'Unable to chdir to maildir' error even after chmod
700 on my maildir

I have included my control files and a part of my log, any help would
be greatly appreciated!!

What are the actual contents of the virtualdomains file?

What .qmail files have you created to handle mail to these domains,
and what do they contain?

Thanks for your help Dave, great book!

I have deleted the cabware.com.au domain for the time being so now the
virtualdomains control file contains:
tonicit.com.au
combinedfire.com.au

and then in /home/vpopmail/domains/tonicit.com.au/ and in
/home/vpopmail/domains/combinedfire.com.au/

..qmail-default contains
| /home/vpopmail/bin/vdelivermail '' bounce-no-mailbox
(i did not create this file, was generated by vpopmail installation)

in the directory /home/andrew/ i have created .Maildir w/ maildirmake
but i have not created a .qmail file because i thought the mail would
go to the vpopmail tonicit.com.au directory which also contains a
..Maildir structure!

That's not the right syntax. You need to also specify a "prepend",
e.g.:

tonicit.com.au:alias-tonicit

And mail to foo@tonicit.com.au will be delivered to
alias-tonicit-foo.
