DNS with Qmail

Hello, I hope your help me.
My problems is that I don´t knows if I need a server domain (DNS)to
the qmail work and That to do with him?
The manuals (How to qmail, My life wiht qmail...)do not say anything
about DNS neither hostname to put in PC.
How do I config this?

WHAT O WHICH IS THE RELACION AMONG QMAIL AND THE FILES OF DNS, AND
WHERE IS THESE FILES.

In a nutshell, qmail only looks up hosts via DNS, not /etc/hosts.

I try to send a mail wrong so that automaticamente send it myself to
postmaster, but this does not function, the following message:

"Unable_to_chdir_to_maildir"
"CNAME_lookup_failed_temporily"

What is wrong? Alias? deliverydefault? /var/control/...?
