Newbie question so please be kind. I am trying to read as much as I can.
I just inherited a LINUX box with qmail running. All is good. Now the boss want me to add a 2nd domain to our mail system. What he wants is user@xxx.com or user@yyy.com to both end up in the same mailbox and the user be able to send a message with either of these to address. How hard would it be to set this up? Are these "virtual" domains? Thanks in advance, Fletcher |

No, it's trivial. Add the second domain to control/rcpthosts and control/locals, and send qmail-send a HUP signal. This is covered in LWQ: http://lifewithqmail.org/lwq.html#multiple-hostnames > Are these "virtual" domains? No, they're local domains since they share the same namespace. If you wanted info@xxx.com and info@yyy.com to go different mailboxes, then at least one of them would have to be virtual. -- Dave Sill Oak Ridge National Lab, Workstation Support Author, The qmail Handbook <http://web.infoave.net/~dsill> <http://lifewithqmail.org/>: Almost everything you always wanted to know. |
