Hiya,
I have recently aquired a static address but have no control over the reverse zone file. Given that antispam software will reject mail if it cannot match the reverse lookup of the MTA, is it possible to setup postfix with the 'correct' reverse, but make a 'virtual' host the one I actually require. For example, my real ip = 10.1.1.1 / reverse 1.1.1.10.in-addr.arpa, A record = myispsfixedip.bigtelco.com. on bigtelco.com DNS server. In postfix can i put the 'reverse' and the A record entry as above, but have mail01.knipmeyer.co.uk within it, to which i can put in my zone file for knipmeyer.co.uk, knipmeyer.co.uk. IN MX mail01.knipmeyer.co.uk. mail01.knipmeyer.co.uk IN A 10.1.1.1 . I hope this makes sense and appreciate any input :) Many thanks in advance, Alan K. alanknipmeyer (AT) yahoo (DOT) com | |
