Hi there,
When I look in my queue with postqueue -p I find many entries like ABE3E1A0075 7991 Sat Jul 31 18:38:38 MAILER-DAEMON (host mx2.hotmail.com[65.54.166.230] said: 550 Requested action not taken: mailbox unavailable (in reply to RCPT TO command)) Aethelredasexy@hotmail.com The mail exists because of the antivirus-software of customer of me - it's not an open relay. He persists on sending "antivirus-notifications". I've discussed that for many hours with him - he's the boss ;-) Ok, now that mail lives inside my postfix and it can't be delivered. Sure, it's a faked mail-address. My question is: Why does it stay queued? A 5xx error code should tell postfix that it is undeliverable. Postfix could "dequeue" it. At least it is no 4xx errorcode, these mails should be retried until "maximal_queue_lifetime" is reached. Is there a main.cf switch to handle that behaviour? -- with kind regards Sven Putze http://my-bluetooth.de ------------------------------------------------------------------- If liberty means anything at all, it means the right to tell people what they do not want to hear.
