postfix smtp error

Hi!
I has a working postfix / RH 8.0 system running properly in my LAN,
connected to the internet.
When I try to send emails from somwhere using my postfix mail account, it
sends error messages. But,I can retrieve my mail with POP.
I tried to include these lines:
mynetworks = 127.0.0.0/8, 213.x.x.x/32
smtpd_client_restrictions = permit_mynetworks

but it doesn't work.
How should I proceed to be able to use my email account elsewhere?

What about posting the part of your log-file that contains errors?

i could not find sufficient info in the log file, but from the client
(outlook) i get the msg: "there was an error connecting to the smtp server,
contact your administrator"
In my log file file, there is only a line with "relay denied" or something
like this.... Could it be helpful, I'll be very pleased....
