Postfix as client only

Is their a possibility to run Postfix in something like a
client-only-mode. What I mean is to avoid running Postfix as a daemon,
because it's only job would be to connect to my MX-Record which is doing
the work for it. There is no use for a smtp-server running on any system
other than the MX-Record.
I know sendmail is able to work in this way.
