With the Debian package it's right. The instalation from 'original' tarball
isn't chrooted (for default).

Don't do that. A better solution is using a hardlink (in sid, in woody I'm
not sure):

ln /var/run/mysqld/mysqld.sock /var/spool/postfix/var/run/mysqld/mysqld.sock
