Hi,
I have the following problem. I have an exim3 running as a serverside mailserver. For sending from my client machine I used exim3 too. That worked fine. Now I use exim4 on my client side and since then have the following lines in exims log when sending over my mailserver: 2004-10-03 11:43:34 Authentication failed for dsl-082-082-202-076.arcor-ip.net (lurkabove.darkstar) [82.82.202.76]: 501 Authentication cancelled 2004-10-03 11:43:34 1CE2ty-0006hb-00 <= marco@mherrn.de H=dsl-082-082-202-076.arcor-ip.net (lurkabove.darkstar) [82.82.202.76] P=esmtp X=TLSv1:RC4-SHA:128 S=525 id=E1CE2ty-0004x9-Jw@lurkabove.darkstar 2004-10-03 11:43:34 1CE2ty-0006hb-00 => spam <spam@mherrn.de> D=virtual T=virtual_transport 2004-10-03 11:43:34 1CE2ty-0006hb-00 Completed Obviously the message was accepted. But what means the authentication failed? I have only login authentication enabled on my server. Any ideas?
