Hi there,
I have been looking into Opensource / free shopping cart software to start using. I want something that is highly customisable and easy to integrate to any style of website. Ease of use is also a real bonus. Two options that seem to of come up so far are: OS Commerce and Agora cart. Agora cart claims to be very powerful and customisable, however, all of the demonstration websites seem the same very basic poor looking style. Also with Agora, I have been looking into it for a few days and have not got on that well with it. On the tutorial pages there are broken links and missing images which make the learning experience unpleasant. OS Commerce looks very slick on the other hand. The sample website is very nice looking and on looking things look great. However, I have read (although not tried OS Commerce yet) that it is only good if you stick to it's style of shop. If you try to deviate from this, then you run into real problems. Is there anyone with recent experience of either of these shopping carts or perhaps another that can give some more insight. There does not seem to be much recent information about them which makes me think perhaps people are using something else now days or just building there own. Kind regards Dave. |
