PHP on Linux platform??

Hi everybody
Can anybody tell me whether php can be used on linux platform using
MySql as database.
Also i m new to php.Can u plz is it easy to learn php(on linux)?
I have to do a project based on linux platform n someone suggested me
to do it on php.
