I have it and love it :-)
but the version of PHP is too old in that book..
so, you can buy it and use the PHP version of the CD rom or if you download the latest version, you will see that you will have to change some text in your code source !
All main functions are explainend, nice examples¨,
all PHP basic, including some object..

well I like it because it explains a lot, how it works, how to do this or that...

Howdy Guys,

am a newbie to PHP and am looking to redo my entire site with PHP and mySQL wherever necessary. I would like to buy a book to get started and am thinking of buying:

PHP and MySQL Web Development, Second Edition
by Luke Welling (Author), Laura Thomson (Author)

Any suggestions??

I personall have PHP developers cookbook, its good book if you ahve
allready gotten into PHP, and need examples on how to do stuff.
