More to the point, remember the adage "don't attribute to malice that
which could be due to simple stupidity." The administration's actions in
the years following the attacks have done nothing but reinforce the
notion that they are idiots. Powerful, self-serving idiots with no
notion of "greater good" but idiots nonetheless.

Re: the objection to this point "based upon the secrecy employed by
this administration" is a non-sequitor. Even idiots, maybe especially
idiots, can find a policy of secrecy beneficial to their goals.
