I am running Ubuntu Hardy Alpha on a few machines now (my future
webserver, laptop, and soon to be replacement personal home server).

I want to ask a question just to make sure: every night I do a system
update (aptitude update; aptitude safe-upgrade).

Would it be true to say that on the next day after Ubuntu Hardy
becomes production, I would get the production version through a
routine system update?

I am almost sure that the answer is yes, but I wanted to make sure.
